Support Staff Local Government Pay Award 2024 – Agreement Reached

The National Joint Council and representative trade unions have reached an agreement on the level of the local government pay award for 2024.

Effective from 1 April 2024
• An increase of £1,290 (pro-rata for part-time employees) up to point 43

The new rates, along with arrears from 01 April 2024, will be implemented as per the following schedule:-

KM (Monthly payroll) – pay day 13.12.2024

NB. In order to process the pay award in time for December pay across multiple payrolls, the changes to pay details are being made over the next few days. This means unfortunately due to time constraints we are unable to make arrangements to stagger the backpay.

Negotiations at a national level should now commence for the 2025 pay award, which should be applicable from 01 April 2025. Further details of the 2025 negotiations will be issued in due course.

 

 

Teachers Pay Award 2024 Update

The timescales for the STPCD 2024 to become final are as follows;

18 October 2024: STPCD 2024 Teachers Pay Order was laid in Parliament
18 October – 8 November 2024: 21-day praying period (this allows MPs to raise any objections on the Teachers’ Pay Order)
8 November 2024: the Praying period ends in Parliament, which is the formal end of the process

Once the formal process has ceased and the Pay Order comes into force, a revised Teachers Pay Policy will be circulated via Governor Services for schools to adopt with details of when all uplifts will be applied to salaries, backdated to 01 September 2024.
